Jeff Castle


Jeff Castle, a native of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, is a versatile trumpeter and educator. After graduating from Tolman High School, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education/Trumpet Performance at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, studying with Walter Chesnut. He earned his Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance at Rice University under the guidance of Armando Ghitalla and Jim Wilt. In June 1998, Mr. Castle joined the U.S. Air Force Band, serving in various capacities, including the Band of the West, the Band of the Pacific-Alaska, and The Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. He is on faculty at UT San Antonio School of Music and a private trumpet instructor. As a freelance musician, he regularly performs with the San Antonio Philharmonic and is the co-founder and director of Castle Brass.
